Established in 1876, the Staveley Store & Cafe is nestled under the Mid-Canterbury foothills in the heart of one of New Zealand’s friendly tight-knit rural communities, serving delicious home-baked goods, light lunches and award winning coffee. Staveley Store is only a short 5 minute walk away from Staveley Heights Bed & Breakfast.
Locally Made Food & Products
Unbelievably tasty hand-made sausage rolls tempt your tastebuds, with a range of flavours available including leek & mushroom, cheese & pineapple, and curry. The counter brims with treats – brioches, brownie, sticky lemon slice, giant choc chunk cookies, and other freshly baked cakes, slices and muffins. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.
While you’re there, pick-up some of the great local products available, including Blue Earth’s range of botanical soaps and skincare, and honey made by nearby Midland Apiaries. There are also gifts and art made by talented locals and basic grocery items as you’d expect from any country general store, as well as DOC hut tickets for the Mount Somers walkway.
